Due to some recent storms we have had, we found ourselves in need of a new roof. Luckily for us, we know a few good roofers personally and were able to get the process started on getting a new roof. The work started yesterday. Since our family has been home due to COVID-19, we have survived on outdoor living in the morning and poolside living in the afternoon with popsicles. If you have ever had a roof redone, you know being outside doesn’t happen. There are shingles and nails and trash flying everywhere. So I found myself trying to figure out HOW we would survive life inside until the roof was finished. After much thought, I decided we could move some of our playtime to the garage. At least we could open our back door and crack our garage doors a little to pretend we were outside!
Great idea to move it to the garage right?!!? Surprisingly, the kids LOVED it! In the afternoon it was a bit warm, but even after the roofers left for the evening, the kids begged to go back out to the garage to play! I had their little picnic table set up in the garage and 2 of the 3 opted to do some art work (1 may have decided it was more fun to try to eat the crayons) and the other discovered the bubble wand that was lost in the garage. He decided to use the box fan to blow the bubbles for him. Pretty genius if you ask me! With pregnancy, I get out of breath and blowing bubbles proves to be quite the task! Today the roofers are back so back to the garage we will go. Let’s hope today is as big of a hit as yesterday! Until the roofers are done I will have to dream of my super awesome poolside view!
